The exact origin of the pretzel is unknown. It is believed to have originated in Italy or Southern France but has gained popularity in Germany and German speaking Switzerland, where it has been traditionally served together with a meal, a cold drink or as a snack on its own. In the 18th century German immigrants introduced the pretzel to North America. Over the years it became one of the most popular snacks at sports stadiums, cinemas and other entertainment venues. In New York, Chicago and Philadelphia, street vendors have been selling soft pretzels on street corners and in parks ever since.
Bringing the taste of freshly baked soft pretzels to the streets of London is what we set out to do with little more than a traditional baker delivery bike and a love for baking pretzels in different shapes and flavours.
Selling out of a bicycle has its limitations. There is little shelve space and no room for additional equipment. But it is great for the environment and we can take our pretzels closer to where you are, as opposed to ask you to come to us.
Our pretzels are a combination of both worlds, traditional and new, sweet and savory, the perfect snack for every occasion and time of day. We like to experiment with different flavours, trying to find the perfect combination to satisfy people's different tastes and preferences.
We bake our pretzels in the early morning hours and take them straight to our locations. Our pretzels stay fresh the entire day so you can have them for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you see our bike somewhere, come and grab one and discover the taste of one of the most popular snacks of the past centuries.
